Garlic Knots

Thing’s You’ll Need

  • Pizza Dough

  • Parsley

  • Stick of Butter

  • Garlic

  • Olive Oil

Tip #1  Give the dough time to rise.

Take your pizza dough.  I like to grab dough from the local pizzeria.  If you are a whiz at preparing dough then go ahead and use your own recipe.  If you live in a city with no pizzerias (This has actually happened to me!!)…Then grab some pizza dough from the refrigerated section of the shoppes.

Roll out the dough and cut strips about an inch wide and roll into long cylinder shapes.

Once dough is rolled out pick up each piece, tie them into a knot, and place onto greased baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, cover, and set aside in warm place until they have doubled in size, about 90 minutes.

Heat oven to 375F and place knots in there for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.  Make sure they are positioned in the middle of the oven to ensure that the bottoms don’t burn.

Tip #2 Do not let butter burn so melt slowly!

Heat sauce pan and melt a stick of butter.  While butter is melting, mince about 3-4 garlic cloves and add in to simmering butter.  Let the garlic cook for a couple of minutes to take off the raw edge. Add in desired amount of fresh parsley or dried will work as well.

Once knots are golden brown remove from oven, place into aluminum foil and fold up edges like a temporary bowl.  Pour butter mixture onto them and put them back into the oven on 300F for about 5 minutes. This is just to let the butter really soak in. nom.

Remove the knots from the oven and serve!
